Appendix C Register Structure & Format

C.1 Overview

The PCI-1724U is delivered with an easy-to-use 32-bit device driver for

user programming under the Windows 2000/95/98/ME/XP operating sys-

tems. We advise users to program the PCI-1724U using the 32-bit device

drivers provided by Advantech to avoid the complexity of low-level reg-

istry programming.

The most important consideration in programming the PCI-1724U at reg-

ister level is to understand the function of the card's registers. The infor-

mation in the following sections is provided only for users who would

like to do their own low-level programming.

Table C-1 and C-2 shows the function of each register for PCI-1724U or

its driver and its address relative to the card's Offset Address.
