Advantages of sgpib driver



No configuration needed (except io/irq for ISA-Version)



No insmod needed for embedded systems when linked to the kernel



No library needed. ASCII commands can be written with echo/write()/puts to the device.



Freeware (GPL).

Disadvantages of sgpib driver



No serial/parallel poll support



No secondary addressing



No C/C++/Tcl library



Missing Nonblocking write (Karrer, 1999)

Although sgpib driver has some disadvantages, this driver is enough for this project.
